Closure of the Spaulding Club

As announced in a recent mailing to the Alton Knights of Columbus membership, the Spaulding Club board has decided that the Club will be permanently closed as of December 31, 2020. Until then the bar will be opened in some capacity with volunteer bartenders and will honor all hall events once the COVID-19 ban has been lifted or modified. There will be no further hall rentals

other than those already booked.

The Alton Knights of Columbus Council #460 will continue to exist, regardless of what happens with the Spaulding Club Association. We have been given permission by Fr. Jeremy to use space

at St. Mary's, probably at the Parish Center, to hold our Council meetings. In the past, fish fries were held in the old St. Matthews gym. Hopefully, we can continue to have our Lenten fish fries,

and many other activities to raise money for our charitable works at the gym.

Upcoming Activities

Queen of Hearts Game drawing every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Spaulding Club clubroom at 405 E Fourth street Alton. Open to the public.

Alton Knights of Columbus Annual ID (Tootsie Roll) Drive

The Council’s annual Tootsie Roll Drive (ID Drive) will be held the weekend of September 18, 19, and 20. This is our major fundraiser of the year and all funds collected go towards helping those with intellectual disabilities. Benefactors every year include the BeDell Center (ARC), Challenge Unlimited, Beverly Farms, and Special Olympics. This is a major effort and to be successful requires many volunteers, some on the street corners, some at store fronts, and some in the office. Please contact Mark Droste at 618-660-9890 or Mike Mueller at 618-581-4925 if you can help.
