Council Location and Contact Information The Alton Knights of Columbus Council 460 is located on East
Fourth Street, one block west of St. Mary’s and one block east of
Marquette High School. The Grand

‘Officer’ button to the left. Closure of the Spaulding Club The Spaulding Club
(Alton Knights of Columbus hall and building) is permanently closed and
looking for a buyer for the building. The Alton
Knights of Columbus Council #460 will continue to exist and will continue to
meet at the KC Hall at 405 E 4th Street until the building is sold.
After the building is sold the Council will meet at the Saint Peter and Paul grade
school or the St Mary’s Parish Center. Upcoming Activities Forty
Days for Life Fellow Knights: our Council of Knights has been called to support and get
involved with the “40 Days for Life” call to
prayer and call to action. Our Council will participate in a peaceful
vigil at the Hope Clinic for Women, 1602 21st Street in Granite
City on Tuesday, March 24th, from 7 AM to 7 PM as part of
the “40 Days for Life” focused pro-life effort. This vigil will be segmented into
one-hour shifts for a Knight and at least one other person. Jim Schwegel is
the Alton Council coordinator for this effort. Please contact Jim at 406-0998

to volunteer for a one hour timeslot in support of
this effort and in support of life for the unborn. Council Meetings Council Meetings, for members only, are held the second Thursday
of each month at 7:30 PM.
All meetings are held in the hall. Please join us at our meetings. Rosary
preceding meeting at 7:05. Alton Knights of Columbus Bowling League Starting in 1923 the Alton Knights of Columbus Bowling League is
one of the longest running continuous bowling leagues in the state of
Illinois. The league bowls on Monday nights at 6:45 at Bowl Haven Lanes in
Alton. If you are interested in joining our league please contact Jim
Schwegel at 406-0998. For more historical information about the league please
click here About Our Council Council 460 works closely with the two Alton parishes, St.
Mary’s and Ss. Peter & Paul, providing funds for various projects,
our members being active participants in their parishes. Our hall and banquet room is available for rental for special events such as wedding
receptions and fundraisers.
Council 460 sponsors an annual golf tournament, St. Louis Cardinals
outing, tootsie-roll fund drive, blood-drive and toy collection for needy
children and other charitable endeavors throughout the year. We welcome new members and look
forward to meeting and greeting you.
